We began our fast yesterday with a nice healthy serving of …… mud. Earlier that morning, Mitchell had gone to help paint a fellow ward member’s home and I thought a wonderful dessert should be waiting for him when he arrived home. Mitchell loves chocolate mud cake. I have made it once before and it turned out….. mediocre at best. How hard could it be? Honestly. Throw a bunch of ingredients into a crock pot and let it sit for several hours. I used a lot of luxurious ingredients … chocolate chips, a cake mix, a pudding mix, etc. It definitely looked unique, but there was no way that all those great ingredients could turn into something repulsive. I have a major sweet tooth … in fact I have a mouth full of sweet teeth … and I couldn’t even finish my bowl of mud. We even piled on ice cream and chocolate sauce thinking that we could right the wrong I had done. FAIL.

You just need to apologize like your mom then move on with life. And what's with the no color blog? Have you gone to 1960's black and white?
I hate it when that happens! Especially when it involves lots of chocolate chips! Have I ever given you my recipe? I've had great success with it--just don't leave it in the crockpot too long. A couple of hours is plenty. Oh, and what size is your crockpot? That makes a difference, too. Better luck next time!

mitchell decided to make it last night using your recipe .... his was ... peeeerfect. i have the worse luck ... or skills ... when it comes to cooking. i am 0.24% martha stewart and 83% amelia bedelia.
Mitchell does have the knack for housewifery. Who knows, he may have a knack for midwifery, too. I don't think he's ever given it a try. And Erin, I honestly find Amelia Bedelia far more likeable than Martha Stewart. And you gotta get some crafty homemakerish points for the amazing pig card!
